I have just finished Khaled Hosseini’s The Kite Runner as an audio book read by the author himself. I am perhaps the last person in the world reading that book. It was marvelous. It had all the clichés of a good story and owned to them and I got to understand a little bit more about Afghanistan and about what makes people leave their homes for good to live in foreign countries they never wished to be in.
I have just begun Dickens’ The Old Curiosity Shop but I’m not sure that I’ll make it to the end. What I need now is another audio book taking me to work, taking me for an evening walk, making me stay just a little longer in bed.

”Astrid Lindgren is compulsory reading for every human soul” I couldn’t have said it better.
